Brutish Sailor
I got a couple of videos. You want the one for Icecast or Shoutcast? Also what OS. A lot of my videos are for WIN32, but i have a few for IC2 that are for different OS's. I even have some videos for setting up an Icecast server remotely. Are you doing this project from home or from your own remote server? Edit, OK, I guess your doing a remote server. What do you have in mind? undercover
Brutish Sailor Well what is the difference between IceCast and ShoutCast? Most likely ShoutCast I will be using. I need to find an affordable host maybe you can call me I will send you my phone number. I never set up my own station before.
Amro91
Shoutcat and Icecast are so similar to each others , except some little features , anyway I prefer Shoutcast than Icecast . The Best program for streaming is Sam Broadcaster . I recommend you this shoutcast host : http://www.shouthostdirect.com/ my radio is hosting with them already , they are really great service with great support and affordable price that will not cost you that much . Any other questions I will be there
BWorld
Be careful with that website. I've had over 2 dozen clients come from shouthostdirect to Stream101 because of downtime and buffering. ██ Stream101 | Affordable Media Solutions ██ Shared cPanel? Stream101 is awesome but it's price is too high for me :( Up till now it work with me like a charm , maybe one Day I ask you for a slot in stream101 :D
BWorld
There is a good reason that the prices are higher. The uptime and quality speaks for itself. If you look around at more reputable sites, Stream101 is pretty reasonable in comparison. ██ Stream101 | Affordable Media Solutions ██ Shared cPanel? Brutish Sailor
Shoutcat and Icecast are so similar to each others , except some little features , anyway I prefer Shoutcast than Icecast . NO NO NO.... IC and SC work Completely different. Icecast is easier to operate, easier to setup, uses less resources, it supports ALL platforms in the YP, truely open source, and if you REALLY listen to the sound.... I find that DNAS has trouble handeling certain Khz ranges, if anyone wants to contest this, I will freely set up a relay demo to compare. The server isnt as transparent with audio as people say. Also Icecast has better relay support, better options for doing ALL sorts of stuff (like hiding your server info) you can use change root (chroot) to run an Icecast server from root with port 80 without opening up a can of worms with security risk, do URL redirects when the stream opens via the server without coding it in the playlist (which .pls I dont think supports anyways anymore) more codec support. Out the box, Shoutcast 1.9.2 was good because it was easy to install, easy to get familiar with, easy to manipulate, and gave you good YP standings. NOW? it 180'ed: Icecast 2.3.2 TrunkKH24 win32 is easier for windows users, the server has A SLEW of awesome features, and still just as awesome for Linux. SC2 got harder, A lot harder. Its YP changed a lot, and I have this gut feeling more SC directory searchers are going to start seeking 3'rd party apps for directories, people are having MASS complaints about buying the MP3 privledges, and in all, Its going to be a power struggle real fast. Of course, Im opinionated. You bet I am, IC2 is awesome, and I know that all roads are going to lead to a pickup in its support. The Best program for streaming is Sam Broadcaster . I completely disagree. There are TONS of alternative setups that can compare to this. My favorite is Zara ran into the playfile of Winamp through audio optical cables. Lots of overprocessing you can do via the using winamp as an audio processer in this mannor, and then stacking DSP's. I still like you though, and you will make judgements through your experiences. These are just mine. I recommend you this shoutcast host : http://www.shouthostdirect.com/ my radio is hosting with them already , they are really great service with great support and affordable price that will not cost you that much . I rather run IC2 from home. Any other questions I will be there Good times. KNSJ.org / 89.1 FM San Diego

It's Seems Like I'm still a beginner :D:Z: I was on Icecast hosting and get a new shoutcast and haven't found lot of different , and difference like in delay and quality , maybe the reason is that I haven't know all of their features . I rather run IC2 from home. So you must have a great internet connection with high bandwidth transfer , I try to broadcast from home when I start thinking about having an internet radio , but 2 or 3 maximum can listen to me at the same moment ! . Quality is dependent on the Encoder (aac+, mp3, ogg) and the bitrate. Delay really depends on your internet connection and distance to the host. There are many backend features that the end user doesnt always see. So you must have a great internet connection with high bandwidth transfer , I try to broadcast from home when I start thinking about having an internet radio , but 2 or 3 maximum can listen to me at the same moment ! . Very true, which is why people have hosts such as myself host their streams. ██ Stream101 | Affordable Media Solutions ██ Shared cPanel?
