Completely wrecked my new year party rotation woke up on New years day morning to find it just playing station IDs one after the other yet it had 5 days worth of music to choose from, so we ditched it and went with radioDJ. ok radiodj isnt perfect yet but its a lot more relable than SAM was. For mortals, it's darn complex. I've been playing around with Station Playlist Creator / Studio for those reasons, and may move to that combo... We later dropped the 98.7fm and started streaming on SHOUTcast and we became Capital987. I showcased the best new handpicked music as well as the best unsigned artists. We also had a resident DJ, WTRS (Jake Waters) who played a weekly dj set on mixup (the show). Heres what we looked like: LINK So.. Apologies if I offended your sensibilities Gary. I wasn't prepared for that exclamation mark ;-). However, I'm afraid I must respectfully disagree with you regarding the first part of your statement. I think we're all spirited competitors. We're all trying to entice people to listen to our streams. I think the very act of the moderators of this site putting up links to the 10 best Online Radio directories speaks nothing if not to competition. If you and I list our stations with Tuner24 for example, we are competitors. On this board, however, I don't think that being a competitor and a source for help are mutually exclusive. It's via the generous postings of the users of this board, that I've been able to take away some extremely useful knowledge, tips and tricks. I'm hoping that as my time here increases, that perhaps someone will be able to use the contents of one of my posts to help them. Finally, I think that giving the people what they want, is an iterative process. If, for example, after three months I'm not seeing an increase in listeners, it may be time to borrow some ideas from my competitors. I appreciate your comments. One thing the SQL program has to be installed before you install RadioDJ. Any more than this Gary will have to jump in as I only play with RadioDJ at the moment. Im a Zararadio user which hates Gary or is it the other way around. lol I cant remember. James you might want to move this to a new thead.
