Sam Broadcaster & Skype

Recommended Posts

yOU NEED TO SET UP THE vOICE fX TO TAKE AN INPUT FROM THE SAY LINE -IN oops caps locked...

then you feed the mixer in to that socket via audio cable...

Open up config on Voice FX

set destination to mixer (pipeline)

Below that there is recording setting- you choose the sound card and whichever input you want.

I have used it to input live from my studio in to the streaming PC with SAM on it.

Skype you set that up to have your mixer control everything. You may be able to do it without a mixer- it is just the way I know.

The best way is to have a play around- you'll get it sorted within an hour or so.

You have to remember to click the Air button in Voice FX from emeory- I am trying to recall all this from distant memory. So apologies if slightly vague- it ain't too difficult though!

If I have helped you with a Freebie- please be kind enough to add a link from your own site or blog to mine- thanks! http://arthurburton.net

Thank You!

Or you could try virtual cables' date=' the quality is amazing[/quote']I installed it and it immediately took SAM off the air. I had to re-start it. Every time I start virtual cable, it stops SAM.

What's up with that?

I am going to give a couple of these a try again. I had tried with both ways mentioned, but just couldn't get it tweaked to work. I rock it "old school" using 2 pc's with SKYPE and SAM on one running one machines audio out to the SAM pc and making the adjustments in the settings for SKYPE and SAM.

One thing that I am wanting to add is, playing sound for both the guys in SKYPE to hear and for SAM to broadcast to the listeners. Again, I have tried a couple different ways but just running to quality issues. I used to be able to do it all off of one machine using a mixer, but don't know what has changed to prevent me from doing that.

Other suggestions? Greatly appreciated.

I am assuming that SAM broadcaster works in a similar manner to Shoutcast. I use an external soundcard which allows me to broadcast Skype calls as well as any other sounds that come through the computer. It also allows me to record live broadcasts as well. The card I use is the Creative Soundblaster Xfi Go. Here is the link to check it out. http://us.store.creative.com/Sound-Blaster-XFi-Go/M/B002651ZNI.htm?WT.cg_n=Campaigns&WT.mc_id=25159
