m3gab0y
Hey all. I'm preparing a new station and I'll put it online (officially) really soon. I'm curious about the sound quality at most Also, I need an advise where can I get simple dry sung-type jingles at reasonable price?
GKIye
Hello MB, Sounds ok to Me Is this a recording of the outgoing sound channel or recorded during listening with your mediaplayer (WinAmp, WMP etc) ? for reason that the bitrate of the file is 256kbps, so I presume the original file has been converted from your 128kbps stream What kind of compression do you use ? hardware or software ? Some details about it should be welcome ... About sung jingles : Make a google search on "Jason LeBlanc Audio Art Café" Jason is from Texas and does great things at a reasonable price, you can mail him for a demo etc Visit and listen @ BW ! m3gab0y
This is the output rip thru the Media Player (Winamp etc.) so this is the sound that people will hear during listening. And yes - it will be 256 kbit/s high-quality live stream. The original audio files are lossless. For the audio compression - can you ever guess if it's hardware or not? GKIye
Thanks MB, I guess the audio adjustements are made by using software plugins About your 256 stream ... thats awesome for sure ... just think about the fact that it can create probs to listeners who are connected to the www by using a narrow connection with 256 you gonna need also tons of bandwidth at your stream provider Visit and listen @ BW ! Too many artifacts? Please, explain in detail. Thanks! As for the 256k Stream - the bandwidth is my least care But for the dialup users and the ones over a satelite, gprs or so - i'll bring up a 64k AAC+ stream. 3G is not that good yet, so the 256kbit/s is a no-no if you use your phone, while on the move ;) p.s. my providers will bless me, if the "tons of bandwidth" are caused by listeners and not by 100's of active torrents for example . The big problem so far is to find the right production for this specific kind of music.
GKIye
Yep ... your right about the streaming ... however streamrippers are everywhere With conclusion ... Do you mean my idea about the software adjustements used at your stream ... or anything else ? The audio does remind Me to "sound solution" settings I'm curous how you'd reached to this conclution. Too many artifacts? Please, explain in detail. Thanks! The big problem so far is to find the right production for this specific kind of music. Anyway ... a fellow BW member gonna be pleased with your project ... Brutisch Sailor (Robert) ... GKIye
LOL ... Thanks for the opinion. I figured out it's best to put this topic in "Airchecks" as my priority for now is to check (and if needed, improve) the sound quality of my outgoing stream If you want I can give you a link (if it's allowed), so you can check it out further. galaxymatt
unless you are using a transcoding service to offer a lower bitrate for people on slow connections i would not stream over 128kbps. http://galaxy247.net/files/outreach_4.gif
