manneringmedia
Hi, I am totally new to the Internet Radio broadcasting scene, and am very much in the dark about most areas. My station is not actually on air just yet, still working on programs and building content...but it's getting there. I think my production/studio facility will be OK for all my needs, and i hope to be streaming direct from my server/PC via my router. The station software i am planning to use is...Broadwave for streaming, and RadioBoss as the station controller. The streaming will be linked to my router via my webpage (i hope). Any help and advice would be very welcome, any questions about anything else... just ask. Ian.

saint
The determining factor for where to getting your content really depends on what kind of Genre you want to broadcast. Relaxing Entertainment For The World - - www.ScenicRadio.com
manneringmedia
The determining factor for where to getting your content really depends on what kind of Genre you want to broadcast. Hi Saint, I am particularly looking for "Country Music" and "Jazz and Swing Music", but virtually any styles would be good ... except maybe Heavy Metal, Heavy Rock... Regards, Ian. BWorld
Ian, You can really get your content from anywhere that is legal. iTunes, CD's, etc. are legal to use as long as you pay the royalties for them. manneringmedia
Thanks MarcAlle, However i would rather play the music from bands/artists that may benefit from air time on my station, than try to compete with all the commercial stations out there. Also, as this is strictly a hobby (one of many), i do not fancy forking out the £1000 UKP per year for the PRS and PPL licences. Or having to supply the PPL with a coplete playlist every three months, of everything i broadcast. Thanks for the suggestion though, i may think about it if the station really takes off.... billh
Ian, You can check out Jamendo they have artists that let you play their music as long as you give them credit. The release their music under Creative Commons, http://www.jamendo.com/en/search/all/country For an example, I selected this musician you can see his Creative Commons info on the right side of the page. You can play his music/songs as long as you give him credit. http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/18391 Hope this helps. Bill "I'm Retired" Donations PayPal.Me/artistview .
