HELP with broadwave streaming

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I think i am going nuts, or at my age.. senile.

I have installed Broadwave and followed all the instructions correctly (I think), but i just cannot get past my router.:(

I can hear my broadcasts on all the computers linked into the router in my home (4).

I have run the program PFPortchecker, it says everything is fine.

I have run the Broadwave test wizard and it tells me that my UPnP is not activated on my router, however; i have checked my router settings and it tells me that UPnP is activated.

My router is a Belkin F5D8236-4, i am running windows Vista on the server PC.

Although everyone on my home network can here my station, no one can here from the internet.:scared:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

Ian.

P.S, My server software in my server PC is behind my router with an IP address and port of... XXX.XXX.XX.4:88

And my router (with the fixed IP Address) is at XXX.XXX.XX.1

What address do i link to from the internet... my PC address and port, or my Router address and add the port.... ie; XXX.XXX.XX.1:88

------------------------------------------------

If all else fails,

I would be interested in hearing about any streaming software that will let me do the following.....

I want to be able to broadcast my programs and station content from my home PC, and have a facility on my webpage that links to the server.

So people can come to my webpage for information about the station and content, and by clicking a button on the webpage... be able to here the station "live".

Please keep in mind; this is strictly a hobby and any costs come out of my pocket (housekeeping).

I did think of Icecast2, but do not have a clue about setting it up and getting it to do what i want... (I am very thick when it comes to modifying software...)

Any advice is always welcome.

Pm me the ip and port Broadwave told you to add to your web page and what you outside static ip is. In your router you should have the pc's ip and port 88 open and the link on your web page should be your outside ip and port 88. Broadwave tells you in Option/ General tab what to use for both and on the same page in the Connect page you select what your connect page will show, you need to have this on Public Network Links. Should look something like this

http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:88/broadwave.asx?src=1&rate=1 Also remember that you cant play your own stream with your outside address behind your router. If you are using the free version you also must put their link on every page you have a player on. It checks and if you havnt got it there the encoder will stop.

Can someone please help?

Broadwave has changed my IP settings and now i cannot change my local IP address.

Before, i could type in my PC ID, but now it only gives me pre-set options... and none of the options are correct.

So now, anyone on my personal network can listen to my station, but not from the internet.

What is going on with Broadwave???????????

It there any alternative to Broadwave that does the same job??????

Pm me the ip and port Broadwave said to increase your internet page and that which you outdoors static ip is. Inside your router you will have the pc's ip and port 88 open and also the link in your web site ought to be your outdoors ip and port 88. Broadwave informs you in Option/ General tab what for both and on a single page within the Connect page you choose what your connect page can have, you must have this on Public Network Links. Need to look something similar to this
