manneringmedia
Hi, just wondering, how can i improve my station content and entertainment experience? It is a hobby so i do have to keep a very close eye on running costs...etc So i cannot afford to pay for the PPL & PRS licenses, and only play music under the "Creative Commons" license, or where consent is given by the creators of the music/content. The actual broadcasts are done via a laptop that is running "Broadwave" and a free DJ program. I have included a talking clock, so i give time announcements on the hour. I am trying to get Bands/Musicians to send in their music for inclusion, also offering slots to DJs.... not had much luck so far on either, but it is still early days. Any constructive comments/suggestions would be welcome.
GKIye
Hello, I did this proposal already during similar questions Take a look at http://www.airplaydirect.com, signup as broadcaster / station and you can download anything you want from unsigned artists Deuce Entertainment has a collab with APD and makes a weekly 2 hours radioset including music, interviews etc Airplaydirect allows your application after an approval (check website, stream etc) Visit and listen @ BW ! manneringmedia
Hi, thanks for the info. I already broadcast the Deuce Radio Show and play much of my material from that site. What i really could do with, is similar complete shows... but on different genre... Like a "Deuce Country Radio Show" or a "Deuce Rock Radio Show". Maybe i should try to find a local-ish volunteer presenter to create a weekly show for me. Thanks again for the advice.

Brutish Sailor
Its funny you mention this. I have a HUGE connection to a bunch of unsigned bands, and I also have a Wigged out DJ buddy that's Loved by every artist Not ASCAP'ed out east of Los Vegas. When Digging up unsigned bands, Social media is your best friend. I wish Creative Commons would open a site for bands trying to get their media viral with all the permissions included. Are there any websites/locations where "Social Media" can be found? I am certainly looking for more content, but would really like to find complete programs "ready for broadcast", that i can include on my station. Any further advice would be very welcome. EricVdM
Ask Eric (Country Rock Radio) if he knows anybody who makes a "Country" radioset The only shows I know are Dutch shows, I'm also looking for a show in English. I posted that allready on BW a few months ago without a reaction. Sorry I can't help with this but when I come across one I let you know.

jamesdean
Are you on MySpace? There are many unsigned bands on there. My friend who runs an internet station gets many requests for airplay but he only plays 70s, 80s and 90s. Get on there and ask around. Join as your radio station name though. That's social media for you.
manneringmedia
Hi James, Yes i am on "Myspace" as ismrecording1... with over 800 "Friends" Have put many postings out on there and had very little response, tend to feel "Myspace" is not really worth bothering with. However any search on google for "MMIR Internet Radio", "Mannering Media"... will find me. I must be doing something wrong!!!!!!!

Chris Herlihy
I would be more than happy to let you play my weekly show featuring new and unsigned artists for an extremely small fee, which is negotiable.
