Anyone on here with their own Iphone or Android App??

Recommended Posts

You can create your own iphone "webapp" for free. It will look exactly like an iphone app. I used it for the last version of my station and it was legit. Currently using it for my next integration.

i can help with integration.

edit: just checked and pretty soon there will be an offline mode.

I like this, this is really helpful for people who may be looking to create an iphone app styled mobile site.

Although I do believe the OP intended to ask about streaming to an iphone.

^streaming to iphone with shoutcast is built-in to iphone. though a simple html5 player will do the trick on other devices.

i dont have a webapp but i have a mobile page http://m.tm101radio.com and it works only on Androids, Blackberry's, and Iphones/Itouch ..and it has one click tune in... but i was wondering if native apps for those phones convert better..thats all...

^unless your webapp is resource heavy or requires direct integration to the phone then i think its pointless.

just testing our Iphone Page ......

http://baldyradio.com/beta/iphone.php

its still a Beta atm but works well on Iphone and a few other Handsets so my Research has revealed.

As for an actual iPhone App goes i think you may be better off just designing something that works with mobile handsets as we do!

One of the main reasons i wanted a native iphone app was for push notification and badges.. When we go live with a show it wouldve been great to have the abilty of push notification to remind folks to tune in..

W3C is already working on that.

The web's primary international standards organization, the W3C, has decided to tackle the issue with the formation of a new Web Notification Working Group this week. The Working Group is developing a standardized way for web developers to notify users of an event on a page when they aren't looking at the page itself.

Well check out http://www.getmarci.com its a subscription service but its only 20 buck for the year.. I have nothing but praise for the service.. They have charts.. Ratings..itunes and amazon affiliate links if that song is available thru those sources.. You can select what thumbnail is displayed for the song and u can create and deploy 4 different widgets.. Definitely worth it.. I put it in the webapp as an iframe and it came out better then i imagined..

the new web app has a ton more features then my previous mobile page...so it was well worth the 5 hours it took to put it all together..i still got to work on the ON demand content and maybe ad some vids but other then that its good..

Thanks for the feedback too hope that getmarci helps u out

If any of you are thinkingof adding a dedicated station Android App, I would recommend AndroidHK.com(this is not me, his name is Eric)

I now have over 1,000downloads and my listener response has gone through the roof. 500 of thosedownloads were in the last week. Popular with Samsung Galaxy Tab users itseems.

The app plays MP3 streams, will link to mail for listeners to email you, and post “I am listening to” to Twitter, Facebook or SMS.

If you want to know more, please contact Eric directly via androidhk.com

Hey,

I know i stated this before, but I do have an Android App for my station live on the Market. Search "The Real Midwest Radio" or click this link (http://market.android.com/details?id=com.wrmr) to try it out. The developer i am working with is still working on it, so as of now you cannot tune into the station BUT you can see all my post (my site is a bStation/Blog) and its pretty cool. Check it out...even comes with a widget

www.TheRealMidwestRadio.com

"24hrs of Non-Stop Midwest Hip-Hop!"

Download our OFFICIAL ANDROID APP from the market or Here
