mtsportscast
I use Zara software. We play a feed using the internet stream feature. The network that we are using has cue tones for local breaks. Is there any way to get Zara to recognize the network tones. The program consist of 2 3-minute breaks and 1 1-minute break per hour. Help!! johny c
I havnt used the tone side of Zara. When I get time , I'll have a look at what you are trying to do RAG-FM 107.7 Raglan New Zealand & ragfm.com ........"Top Music Top of the Dial" Click HERE to listen to the RAG-FM radio stream
mtsportscast
Thanks, they send a 25hz cue tone for our local breaks
johny c
It looks like the tones will only switch a signal on the line in with the Sat feed and not an internet stream. I'll have another look later, it may be able to be done with a bit of mucking around. You may have to stop and start another player for the stream like winamp with a .bat file. Zara will run .bat files with an event. Also you will need to know what the number of the tone is to put in the events for the DTMF. mtsportscast
Thanks, I downloaded a tone detector program and will try to feed that in Zara somehow. Would a tone detector hardware device work in conjunction with the software?
johny c
Cant help you on that one. Can you record the show first, edit it with your fillers and play it back later. That's the way I work and its a lot easer and tighter. mtsportscast
Thanks, We can't really record as there are some days that we will run it for 14-16 hours. We really like Zara, but may have to look at some other software. I have a guy that used to work for NASA that is pretty good with this stuff. He is supposed to get back to me this week. Thanks again, if we come up with some thing that works I will let you know.
mtsportscast
johny C have you seen the new version 2.2? If I feed the internet stream from one sound card as a satellite feed and use a second sound card to feed our station transmitter. Do you think this would work. Or use a second computer to feed the stream into the computer running zara. I have emailed about buying the version 2.2.
johny c
Any one of those ways could work, Give it a go and see what happens. A second sound card is an easy way to try but it may load you pc down if it is trying to do too much. I dont know anything about the new version.
