TM101Radio
Facebook is Huge and being able to have your station play on there can help you out immensely especially when you fans start sharing you Facebook page so I just want to share another quick tip for Station owners with Facebook Pages.. IF you want to have your Station actually play on Facebook you can now set up a Facebook Page with an FBML Tab. As far as I know previously this was possible but you had to know FBML to either set up a Page Tab or Facebook Application. But now Facebook fully supports IFRAMES..so anything you can do with a website you can use to create a custom Facebook Tab. Simply install the FBML tab maker on your Facebook page http://apps.facebook.com/tab-maker/?ref=ts and then create a webpage and then add it to the Tab with the Iframe html code like so: ***EDIT***I forgot to mention when creating a page to embed in an IFRAME you cannot exceed 520px wide. I mean you can but then you will have the scrollbars appear to scroll to the right. So KEEP the design to 520px wide for a clean look. As far as Height you can make the page any height you want. **** Thats it..then optionally go to your FB pages settings and set the New Tab you created as the default landing page..then whenever someone visits your page they will go to your Newly created TAB.. For mine I simply embedded my flash player and put some other info on there to keep it simple for now but it is a work in progress you can see it HERE: http://www.facebook.com/TM101Radio I would love to hear feedback and also I would love to see your page as well...and any questions feel free to ask and I will be glad to help you out. TM101Radio
Thanks.. As a station owner it would be absolutely ridiculous to overlook the power of Facebook..so I thought I would share this..this was the easy way of doing it..I have a Facebook application for the station and now I really don't need it with the page tab.. http://www.facebook.com/themovement101 thats my Facebook application I made a while ago... i still update it and people still use it and its listed in the Facebook application directory so it gives me wider exposure and more possibilities to listen on Facebook plus it got a ton of features in it so I will keep it but the page Tab pretty much doesnt take any maintnence... and was really easy to set up.. billh
Well it's got me. I don't use my FB account that much. I can't tell how to add the IFRAME "I'm Retired" Donations PayPal.Me/artistview . I only do dry reads, if you want FX's you'll have to add them, I might add them. TM101Radio
when you go to http://apps.facebook.com/tab-maker/?ref=ts click on the "select page" button..then scroll down to where it says "XFBML/HTML:" and in that text box is where you put the iframe code...then all the way at the bottom click where it says "ADD SUB-TAB 1 to Selected Page" and your set. cr08
I believe Facebook has changed a lot of that stuff since this thread was originally formed. They seem to have no concept of what users really like and remove really useful features. With that said, I want to say there is an option still available to do what you want but you'd have to go digging for it.
