galaxymatt
nice video, ( although you said what every salesman says at the start of every pitch "i'm not selling anything" ) , Wordpress is a great option for powering a radio station website because you can easily manipulate it to act as a CMS as well as a blog and it's search engine friendly. Also if you have basic knowledge of html and css it's really easy to get to the basics of building your own template. Wavestreaming
Thanks for the feedback! There was nothing to sell when James put that out, just some friendly advice! Its amazing how many radio stations (even larger ones) that DON'T use blogging. In every case, all of our larger consultancy clients, its one of the first things we recommend doing. Of course the simple things work! Its often that people just overlook them! Regards, Steve WS . . Wavestreaming - The Internet Radio Experts since 2004. CastSonic
Use the power of podcast to promote your radio stations. If some of your broadcast consisting of an episodic series or interesting interviews start to record them. You can then upload to your website or make public in other places on the internet. Firstly, there is the opportunity for those who can’t listen to the live broadcast, to be able to listen to this at another time. Secondly, it is good material to promote your radio station and give to get to know new people who come to you for the first time. If they like it is likely to stay in tune longer. Run a competition Who doesn’t like competitions? Everyone loves them, so holding regular ones will get listeners tuning in regularly in search for more prizes. You don’t need to offer expensive prizes, to get listeners to enter and holding the competitions. You can also try to get some gadgets from companies that are the same targeting. Use your social media channels and show competitions you are running and previous winners. It's really easy way to promote your station and build interest in it.
