Icecast over Shoutcast

Hi all,

 

So far for the station I run, we've been using Shoutcast for the stream but after looking around we've started to look into Icecast. If you use Icecast then why do you use it over Shoutcast, and do you know if it supports smooth transfers between live DJs and the autoDJ?

 

Also, do you know of any affordable Icecast stream hosts (incl. autoDJ)?

Personally, for my online station, I like Icecast because of the smooth transition feature. You can switch from autodj to live streaming without any downtime (users getting disconnected).

 

It sounds much more professional.

Yeah I just looked around more and found information about the smooth transfers which is something we would really like because at the moment the presenters need to turn the AutoDJ on and off which sometimes disconnects.

 

Do you know of any reliable Icecast stream hosting that allow AutoDJ?
