sevasimran
Just thought I'd introduce myself to the other members. I have no background in broadcast but would like to begin streaming music online. I know there are many facets from artistic to legal; so I'm leaving it up to those that have gone before me to help educate me. I am a proverbial sponge! billh
Welcome to BW Sim. Need help with anything just ask. First you'll need to look into legal part of it. You can find sites that also support Indie artists and some Indie Artists will let you play their music. If you want to play the well known musicians/bands you'll need to join a site and pay fees (royalties) There are some sites listed listed on BW you can ask questions about. Try searching the site, then ask if you need help, have questions, etc.. "I'm Retired" Donations PayPal.Me/artistview . I only do dry reads, if you want FX's you'll have to add them, I might add them. If you use my voice please link to my art site AbstractArtist.xyz, Thank you

GKIye
Once again ... Hello Sim About Indie and/or unsigned artists I wanna share with you this site : http://airplaydirect.com/ You have to sign in as radio or artist ... so you're in need for a website to prove that you are one of both At airplaydirect You'll find lots of artists who are feeling lucky that they are played aka getting exposure Its a service who gives you the chance to download .wav or 320kbps mp3 files to your project I already mentioned this service very often to new members who are in search for that genre of music So give it a try ... after you have read the contributions of Saint Visit and listen @ BW ! sevasimran
"... after you have read the contributions of Saint" And this is exactly what I'm doing now . . . I had no idea I'd have to dig into the directory on my computer to do this. I've done that to repair stuff in the past but I'm no software guru; I'm not real comfortable messing around in there. Something to get used to I suppose.
billh
It's all depends on how you want to run your stream. Download some free programs for example Zara Radio, EdCast or other programs and try them on your computer. If you have songs in a folder you can make playlist add Jingles etc. You can always record something yourself for drops, ad's etc. You can also get a free stream account and try it. Do a talk show or something and have a friend listen to make sure it's working. It might be best to search the forum and find categories that you need help with. That way you'll get the best answers to your questions. You'll find categories for different programs etc. that you may want to try or have tested.
