Catfish Pete
I'm having some problems specifying the right code for a .pls file - the type of file that iTunes and many other players recognize. Here it is: Filename "listen.pls" [playlist] File1=http://207.7.84.55:8000 Title1=Radio Litopia Length1=-1 NumberOfEntries=1 Version=2 However, when the link to this file clicked, it simply lists the file. Any ideas appreciated.
shoutcaststreaming
That file works for me. Do you have a valid player installed on your PC ? GKIye
If is needed to being used to activate Quicktime, you can use a "listen.qtl", this is opening your Quicktime iTunes works with a simple listen.pls if your iTunes is set as "default" player, otherwise Winamp (if installed) gonna be activated For Media Player you can use a .asx or .wax listen file By the way, your content of your files in wrong : I made the right content. the only thing you have to do is copy and paste the content into a file. This can be done by opening your current listen.pls by using "notebloc" Change the "extension" where needed, example to qtl, asx, wax etc see below : litopia.pls [playlist] File1=http://207.7.84.55:8000/ Title1=Radio Litopia Length1=-1 NumberOfEntries=1 Version=2 litopia.asx Radio Litopia Radio Litopia litopia.qtl autoplay="true" moviename="Radio Litopia" src="http://207.7.84.55:8000/litopia.pls" /> litopiaWax.wax (simple .wax) Radio Litopia Radio Litopia ©2k12 Radio Litopia litopiaURL.wax (shows your homepage into Media Player) Radio Litopia Radio Litopia 2k12 © Radio Litopia Radio Litopia Radio Litopia Once again : change your extension to the . (dot) name and change the name to the new file (your station name) Also change the listen links at your website (html content - open with notebloc) and you are up and running Visit and listen @ BW ! GKIye
Hi Pete, Your Winamp link contains still the old link "http://207.7.84.55:8000/listen.pls?sid=1" Change this to http://207.7.84.55:8000/litopia.pls After that is changed your Winamp gonna work also properly It can happen that the litopiaURL.wax don't gonna show the website content into the Media Player screen, that depends to the settings (properties) of the users Media Player ... So its more likely that you use litopiaWax.wax so upload all new listen files to your webserver and change all listen links into the html into the right way ! Visit and listen @ BW ! GKIye
Your listen.pls don't work properly You made a mistake in the making of the copy of the name it shows : http://207.7.84.55:8000/*litopia.pls it has to be written without the * so : http://207.7.84.55:8000/litopia.pls or connected to your website as : http://www.radiolitopia.com/litopia.pls UPDATE !! I can't manage it to play your litopia.pls Played from my own pc by playing it with WinAmp it works perfect but using the link as I wrote above don't work out (??) Thats something I don't understand Unless your litopia.pls file is somewhere saved into an other directory at your webserver The listen file keeps on loading into WinAmp but without any results So please check once again the place of your listen file and the connection to it Visit and listen @ BW ! Vanlen
Hi Catfish Pete: Just checked with the Windows Media player Icon - it asks me to allow plug in I say yes and connects no problem. The Quick time link when clicked opened a page with the following in my chrome browser. Don't have winamp so didn't check This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below. GKIye
The only thing who works properly is the .wax file for Media Player (at my place) I see also that the domain has changed to http://www.litopia.com/radio/ however the files are still connected to your former domain ... or you have to drop your listen files into your /radio/ directory to be honest I don't get it anymore ... the listen files are working A-OK when opened and played straight from my pc but they seems not to work if used at your domain/website Maybe somebody else with more knowledge about this issue can solve your problem Visit and listen @ BW ! Catfish Pete
This is a real puzzle. Thanks, MarcAlle, I'll check the MIME types. That may be a problem. GKIye - the domain hasn't changed. You're viewing the site litopia.com/radio, which is calling p[playlists etc on the site radiolitopia.com.
Catfish Pete
This may be getting a bit intricate, but... I see on the server that the extension "pls" is associated with "application/pls+xml". Does anyone know if this is correct - or if I should change it to something else? GKIye
I don't know ... but if it works for Me at my webpage, it has to work also for an other project - the content of yours is the same to my listen files (if not changed by you) ... so they have to be operational Check once again your directory and links ... to Me it looks that at that place you gonna find the problem Anyway, a listen file, whatever task it has is a simple download who gets activated by a media player or by the default player of an user.
