I hear that CC is creating a version 4.0 of their licenses especially with dealing with CCBY ND NC. With non commercial, you still have to check with them to play their material as they are probably unsigned and a royalty collection agency wouldn't have authority either way so you need to get their permission. For the others CCBY CCBY SA etc just asking them even though it's share a like etc is a good policy. Edit - And non commercial just means that. You play commercials ...no play.
