inkstain
...and I think that I have a different question. I haven't seen this scenario addressed yet here. I'm planning on starting up a new station. I will NOT be playing any music from bands on major labels. As a matter of fact, practically ALL bands which I'm planning on playing are 100% independent and not on any label whatsoever. The few that have released albums on "labels" have been on their own labels. These are all bands from my own city and the surrounding areas. They have all ASKED for airplay. My question: how does licensing work in a situation like this? Thanks for your time, folks. This site and these forums are VERY helpful and informative. ===== Sindo
saint
In The United States ... Unless you have a signed agreement with the artists - OR - the music has been released as public domain / applicable Creative Commons license - RIAA states that royalties are due ... ( which is total BS - because the artists wont ever see a penny of that money ).
