voodoohippie
Its the Mainstream Rap/Pop artists the scream the loudest. Remember Lars from Metallica in 2003? Well there are many great Metal bands of the 70s that need to be re discovered. Plus don't forget Album Rock/Progressive Rock. The easiest way to license your station right now and have less paperwork and still have the privilege of using your preferred Shutcast host is to sign up at http://startinternetradio.tk There you'll see how you are legally covered by SESAC, Sound Ex, BMI(the one trolling Shoutcast really hard), ASCAP. Using the URL http://startinternetradio.tk will also allow you to stream audio ads and you can do it as little as $22.50/Mo. voodoohippie
With more stations like yours and mine (Which plays Progressive Rock,Classic Rock) it may be the thing that helps to break the public out of the slump of dull Radio that was taken over by the corps themselves. I've been broadcasting for over 4 yrs now and seen all sorts of folks flocking to stations over the net like mine. It is something that the big wigs never counted on. They've been at hard work cutting off past music and indie artists and especially UK British artists. However I see another British invasion happening in two forms: 2. Past work being re discovered via Internet Radio. 2. Indie Progressive artists like Porcupine Tree being discovered by many folks who love music.
