Hi from a returning member

Hi everyone,

I am returning after a long break, and looking to re-launch my station MMIR.

The station failed last time due to an electrical fire in my home that damaged my equipment, and also a lack of support in finding content for broadcast:\.

I am rebuilding the station interior and adding new control gear, applying for the PRS music licence (all at my own expense)... and have a couple of people who have shown an interest in helping out (volunteering) as DJ Presenters.

So i am more confident now, that the station will work out and stay on air...at least for the first year.

I just wanted to say a big "Hi" to everyone especially all the great people i came into contact with first time around.

Ian.

Hi Jim, thank you for the welcome.

The station "MMIR" will be an "on line" station only, to set up and license a AM/FM station here in the UK is a nightmare... the costs would beyond the range of moast individuals or even small businesses.

The legal considerations are a minefield and as for getting a braodcast lisence and frequency allocation... almost impossible.

You have to jump through hoops to set up an "on line" station, and apply and pay for licensies for content... when i ran the earlier version station broadcasting only "Creative Commons" content, i was regularly reminded of the penalties should i accidentally broadcast copyright material... so this time i am getting all the legal stuff sorted out of my own pocket, before the station goes live.

Good luck with your station Jim, hope all goes smoothly.

Hi everyone,

Thank you Brutish Sailor and GKIye, and everyone else on her for the warm friendly welcome back.

It's been a while, and i have missed the radio scene, i am hoping that this time i will be around for some time... catastrophes permitting...lol.

Thank you all for your really generous help,

Ian.
