VeebRadio
Hey guys, I was trying to play around with SAM but I had no luck nor could I find what I needed on the internet. If you're on AUTODJ and you don't want SAM to play, for e.g. a show intro, how do you stop SAM from being able to play that mp3 automatically, is there a way? Also we have two streams, one 128k and one 64k. However, when we link to the 64k stream it still seems to load up the 128k stream.... even when you go to the shout cast stream page and click "listen" on the 64k stream... akward do we have to create a .pls file (for example) or can we use the one that directly links to the shout cast server default .pls file? SmoothJazz
1) SAM plays what is in the queue, AutoDJ loads the queue automatically, you may want to exepriement with Queue and or Manual Mode instead. 2) If you encoders in SAM are configured properly they will report the proper bit rate you are streaming. Do you feed each stream from a separate encoder? http://5280jazz.com/nowplaying_image/5280jazz.png Rob Oyler 5280 Jazz
shoutcaststreaming
If you have 2 streams, then you need 2 instances of SAM, one for each encoder (128k and 64k, in your case). If you have only 1 stream, then SAM can have 2 encoders, one of each bit rate. VeebRadio
I have one stream, with two encoders, so two bit rates. When you go to the SHOUTCAST DNAS server page and go to stream 2, for example, and click "listen" it will load up stream 1 instead of stream 2 in your player
SmoothJazz
This isn't a SAM issue, sounds like a shoutcast issue, which verison of Shoutcast is it? http://5280jazz.com/nowplaying_image/5280jazz.png Rob Oyler 5280 Jazz
VeebRadio
Guys, I've found the program, in SHOUTCAST DNAS v2 - if you want the client to automatically connect to the correct stream you must put them equal to nothing, i.e. stream path_1= I had a "/" in the place of nothing and it would just automatically connect it to the first stream. Thanks for your help
shoutcaststreaming
Yup, that's why SmoothJazz asked that question. Nick A answer to your first question about SAM playing show intros while in "Auto DJ" mode, is fairly simple to do. Add all of your show intros, jingles, sweepers, etc. to your Sound FX window. You can do this by going to: Playlist
