JamboUK
I have just downloaded and installed Radio Dj and I must say that I am extremely impressed with it. The program is full of all the functionality that you need and has a really nice user interface. Been looking at the pictures of version 1.6.1 and I must say I cant wait to get my hands on it, it looks like it is everything that I want from a Radio playout system. Hi Supercabby Glad you like it..... the beta version of 1.6.1 is out for testing as we speak http://www.radiodj.ro/download Wohooo Networks can only get it to work on Windows XP Oh Jim how wrong can you be?? RDJ has been tested on XP Vista Windows Home server , server 2008 Win7 and Win8 and works on all of them Pity you can't say the same about SAM broadcaster as i understand that won't work on Win8 Stop trying to rubbish RDJ will you. Anyone would think you only want people to think it's bad software so people will be conned into buying SAM! Vanlen
There are a number of versions 1.58 through 1.60 and now (in beta) 1.61. The 1.60 works fine for over a year non stop on Windows 7 I'm using win7 64bit ...okay, make that six months non stop, barring the dreaded windows update which I immediately deactivated LOL and do it manually now. The Beta is still being refined and has a few bugs, heck it was released 24 hours ago and there are bound to be issues, but it is a massive re-work with plug in (Third Party support). For those interested in using RadioDJ start with 1.60 until you get comfortable using it or for the adventurous give the beta a shot. For Free, it's right up there with the old Maestro and Scott systems in traditional broadcasting environments but a heck of a lot more intuitive and pleasing to the eye if you have to stare at the screen for hours and now in today's evolving internet radio boom it's a nice fit. The key is setting up mysql first. Plenty of tuts on that and RadioDJ won't run without it as you need to use the database setup wizard and you're good to go. Your mileage may vary. I tried installing the Beta version but kept getting an error saying it is not a valid 32bit program! Is it only compatible with 64bit systems? djgary72
I tried installing the Beta version but kept getting an error saying it is not a valid 32bit program! Is it only compatible with 64bit systems? Try reading some of the posts here http://www.radiodj.ro/community/index.php?board=12.0 Also try checking back on the download page for updates. With it being a Beta the bugs are being fixed as soon as Marius gets chance. But i think so far This version is going to be powerful wee beastie esp when the Request server is put into it. FMStudio
RadioDJ fails in several points. You shall be really careful when considering to use this software. We considered this software for our station, but when we digged behind the scenes, we were disappointed. There are several requirements for good software, especially for free one. Lets discuss RadioDJ: The biggest problem with RadioDJ is, that it's developed by novice developer with a childish behaviour. Its not a real open source or open development community. You couldn't participate with new ideas or criticise RadioDJ anyhow on their "community forum". Their "community forum" turns to be actually the personal site of Marius, where all inconvenient post are deleted or locked. There is no real open community allowed. By using RadioDJ, you, as a serious FM or Internet steam broadcaster might encounter later serious issues. For business company you are the customer, they are trying to take care about your needs. For Marius, your needs might be inconvenient and you might get banned from "community forum". Imagine if you have a working station without any support for core software of your broadcast studio and you are banned from "support/community forum". http://oi39.tinypic.com/2eme6pl.jpg No proper standards used. RadioDJ does not use proper standards. For example as serious broadcaster you have to categorise songs by genre etc. You have tagged your music and shows properly, but RadioDJ ignores for example proper standard of genre tags. You couldn't use them anyhow for proper automated playlist. Just compare RadioDJ database genres list against actual standards to see how it fails. Poorly designed database. RadioD database is very poorly developed, at the childish level (Like by someone who learning how to make he's first database) currently. You couldn't integrate this database with any other related system in your studios, as there is no proper data layer defined. But no discussion allowed about the issue on "community forum". Unstable. RadioDj is unstable. You cant relay on it for serious high quality broadcast. Song are overlapping, sudden silence, etc. Poor support for commercials. As broadcaster you live at commercials (or commercials for sponsor). RadioDJ does not provide proper way to manage and broadcast commercials. Fails for teamwork. Radio DJ fails totally as teamwork software. Radio Dj is single user software. You are unable to use software for proper teamwork. But no discussion allowed about the issue on "community forum". These are just few insights.
radioDJ
Thanks for your "sincere" thoughts. This is my final post about this person: Imagine if you have a working station without any support for core software of your broadcast studio and you are banned from "support/community forum". You didn't asked for support on our forums, you basically requested re-designing the whole application to meet your needs and you couldn't handle a refuse. Any forum has some rules and i'm sorry if i skipped the rule in which i ask respect to other forum members and overall good behavior, but that's because i thought i have to deal with mature users. However like i already said, feel free and find or code the program which will meet all your needs. I would show you the ban list for the last 5 years to see how "long" it is, but you don't deserve any attention after all this.

SarahWilliams
I didn´t know about "Radio Dj" program. Where can I get it from? Also, I am using Audacity and am very happy with it as it is very simple and for free. I am not an expert but could anyone tell me which program you think is the best one for radio recording? Thank you so much. Voice overs: www.youtube.com/user/golocalise The leading translation and multilingual voice overs agency providing voice overs for corporate video production.
