Remote Show problems with SAM Broadcaster

HI Guys

I am not sure if anyone will be able to answer this.

We are trying to use the remote show PAL script within SAM Broadcaster without much success, every time that I try streaming to SAM from a remote location it keeps cutting out and reverting back to playing its own music.

I know that Spacial offer what they call "DJ Seats" but this isnt really the route that we want to go down for 2 reasons, the first being the cost and secondly most of our DJs have their own software that they want to use from Virtual DJ, through to the likes of Zara so it would be easier for them just to stream one 128Kbps stream to a shoutcast server and for SAM to listen out for this stream. It should also give a more seamless integration rather than the remote DJ having to switch of the encoders from out main SAM and then stream from their home, also we run four streams which some of our presenters home broadband connections cannot cope with.

My question is why when we stream to SAM using the remote show script does it keep cutting out?

Thanks for your replies in advance guys

The remote show PAL script works fine, we use it with 2 of out stations for remote DJ's.

Does it put about 20 occurances of the URL / songs ?

If it is dropping the source it means it can't play the stream. It will not play AAC or AAC+ streams. Make sure this isn't the case.

Since I wrote part of that suite of scripts, PM me if you need help.

Hi it does put 20 occurances of the URL in the queue but it keeps dropping out and reverting to playing the rotation, we have been trying this between 2 computers that have very good 40Meg Internet connections, we have had no success with it at all.

I will PM you tonight when I get in from work, thanks for the offer of help

Just a bit more information for you to see if you can figure out the problem that I am having:

I am streaming from one location to a hosted 128Kbps Shoutcast server the main SAM Broadcaster is in another location and I am using the remote show script to listen for the hosted shoutcast server.

I know the problem is not between where I am streaming from and the hosted Shoutcast server because if I listen into the Shoutcast server the stream is fine.

But when I listen into what the main SAM Broadcaster is streaming out it keeps cutting between what I am streaming from the remote location and its playlist rotation.

Hopefully this is a bit more detail that will enable you to tell me where I am going wrong.

Cheers Guys

I would love to help you out and answer your question. But if I did, I would get in trouble and accused of spamming for Spacial and Wohooo Networks. The method I would tell you about is very simple and does not interrupt your stream to your listeners.

That would be unfortunate. What good is a forum like this if people can't post solutions for problems if they have one? If there is a free solution to an issue I am facing, I will probably use it. If not, even a paid solution is better than none ... right?

PM's are great, but they don't help others who may have the same or similar problem to find a solution.

Just my .02 worth.

No, that is not helping at all. I know exactly what you are doing. No need to explain it.

What I wanted a URL link to I can try it in my SAM.

If it works, then the next step would to do a WinMTR check t see why the signal is dropping.

PM me the link, as that shouldn't be posted here.
