djgary72
Had a quick play around with it looks a lot more promising. Only a couple of things that are bugging me The crossfade isn't working great and even though I've set it to remember settings when it restarts the setting are back to default. It doesn't work well remembering what songs it has already played it seemed to want to keep playing Kajagoogoo after it had already played. Other than that it played nicely for the hour or so i spent testing it. My Blog https://djgarybaldy.blogspot.com User of RadioDJ FREE radio playout software since 2010. PapaBearPW
Hi garybaldy, Had a quick play around with it looks a lot more promising. Only a couple of things that are bugging me The crossfade isn't working great and even though I've set it to remember settings when it restarts the setting are back to default. I'll take a look at what's going on with the save settings. What exactly seems to be the problem with the crossfade? It doesn't work well remembering what songs it has already played it seemed to want to keep playing Kajagoogoo after it had already played. Other than that it played nicely for the hour or so i spent testing it. I don't yet have anything setup to prevent something like that. I do have a "DJ Rules" option planned and on the roadmap, but I still need to make sure I have all the bugs in this version fixed before I continue on with adding new features. Thanks for the input. http://www.lunarcaster.com
PapaBearPW
Hey How good is this LunarCaster DJ program thanks Well, since I wrote it, I am a bit biased. Since it's free, I would recommend you download it, give it a try, and decide for yourself. Posting information afterward like garybaldy did is what helps me improve it. http://www.lunarcaster.com
djgary72
What exactly seems to be the problem with the crossfade? Just couldn't get the crossfade to work still had lots of issues with silence between tracks. I don't yet have anything setup to prevent something like that. I do have a "DJ Rules" option planned and on the roadmap, but I still need to make sure I have all the bugs in this version fixed before I continue on with adding new features. You will need artist and title repeat rules putting into the program to make it useable for most radio stations as it's part of the DMCA about tracks not repeating within a certain time but I'm sure as it's on your to do list it will be coming into the program. saint
Anyone taken the software for a spin on WINE for non Windows Users ? Relaxing Entertainment For The World - - www.ScenicRadio.com
PapaBearPW
I have actually been working on getting it to run under Mono. I have made a number of changes in preparation for this and will be making a few more attempts to compile the source with Monodevelop on Ubuntu 12.04 this week. The last time I tried to run it under WINE was v1.2 Alpha 3 which failed. http://www.lunarcaster.com

PapaBearPW
No problem saint. Tried again this morning. Still not working for v1.2 Alpha 4. But, I think I am getting closer. Compiler in Ubuntu seems to not like one of the dlls I'm using. Monday or Tuesday night I'll try to replace the components that use that dll with a standard winforms component and remove the dll. I'll post the results here then. http://www.lunarcaster.com
PapaBearPW
Just couldn't get the crossfade to work still had lots of issues with silence between tracks. One part of that I think I have fixed (will be in the next release). I increased the timer interval 10 fold that is used to check the status of the songs. The cross fading seems to be triggered more accurately now. But, I think I need to add an option to trim silence at the end/start of tracks. I have a few tracks that fade out with 5-10 seconds of silence at the end which I imagine could be an issue for some folks. You will need artist and title repeat rules putting into the program to make it useable for most radio stations as it's part of the DMCA about tracks not repeating within a certain time but I'm sure as it's on your to do list it will be coming into the program. Yep. This will require a bit more work but I should have something set up for that by version 1.3 I hope. http://www.lunarcaster.com
