Mott Productions
I will conceed this much....I agree with Mark. For graphics MAC's are good. If you are using a free video editor like iMovie or Windows MovieMaker, I would in that instance however go with the MAC because it is much easier than MovieMaker. Once you get into sound software and really good video editing software like I use for my business, PC's go way far and beyond the capacity of what a MAC could do. -Patrick

James
hmm.. i agree, i wish i could get a mac for its graphics, video editing and sound editing capabilities. BUT windows does the same and the software is alot more cheaper  its over 1000 dollars for just a video editing software! Mott Productions
Agreed!! However, I still find the paid audio and video software on PC's is much better than MAC. -Patrick

James
i also agree with that. I find mac a bit too easy. Most of the things i do on windows are alot more advanced and actually get what i want them to do when macs do it but they do it poorly or it costs to much to do it the right way Studiio - All-In-One Radio Communication Platform SMS | Phone Calls | Social Media | Content

MADcHATTER
I would have to say PC's as well. Mac's are perfect for digital pictures/video and such, but for audio the sheer raw power of a PC is still the benchmark. And, as intel moves into the next phase of multicore PC processing things will get more interesting for Audio productions. The next gen Intel Chip is a COC (Computer On a Chip) they refer to as the Nephilim, will move PC's into Tera-Scale computing before they hit the MAC. I am imagining Multiphasic Harmonics (sub-harmonics that alter the sonic perception of a tone or tones) and Fractal Audio recording schemes will become the new norm in Applied Audio productions with these next level processors. All in all, things will get mighty interesting between Mac's and PC's as technology moves forward! MADcHATTER

James
Well I never in all my life *giggles* For me it's the "Pee Cee" that is all boring... All my voice work is done on a Macintosh with the aide of Peak LE 6 my trusted mastering DAW. My Macintosh is the center of my "State of the Art Digital Home Studio"! (Yep and I caught you doing finger quotes with me!) Look a VO Guys gotta use something and for me it dont get any better than a MAC! Just my .02 cents worth.... Kindest Regards, Jerry wow, their great prices. I thought it would be all $1000 software, (but thats me thinking apple stuff is expensive) which i think is.. why cant we just buy the mac software by itself and so we dont have to buy it as a computer. You would get alot more fater and customizable computers then. :bhrh: Studiio - All-In-One Radio Communication Platform SMS | Phone Calls | Social Media | Content

bigmouthstudio
What kind of software do you run? Is it very expensive? James, I use Peak LE 6 from Bias Inc. It runs $129.00 US. It's kinda like Cool Edit was when it 1st came out. No multitrack, however you can layer audio which is how I do all my production work. I have been thinking about moving to a multitrack DAW and from what I hear Logic Express from Apple $199.00 US is the software to have, But until then I'll stick with Peak LE 6.
