Audio Quality in SAM

Recommended Posts

Hello BW Members!

As most of you know, I've been a long time SAM user. But recently, I've been having some problems and I am hoping some of you can shed some light on it...

On the encoders window you have the DSP and the red "record from soundcard" button.

When in automation I let the pipeline do all the work and leave it at DSP. When I get on to do my show I usually like to control everything from the board and set the encoders to grab audio directly from the mixer.

But lately, when I would set it to my soundcard the audio sounds absolutely HORRIBLE. The audio sounds drained out, theres a slight static in the background, and I cannot find the problem.

I've done just about everything. I've tried setting certain things to bypass, made sure Windows wasn't using any sound effects in the recording devices box, disabled the compressors, everything.

Like I said, this only happened recently.

Can anyone shed some light on what might be the problem?

Thanks in advance!
