nvradio
I am the US Community Manager over at Radionomy.com! Please let me know how I can help any of you. I am currently working on strategies to help DJ's and radio station producers build their online presence through user created internet radio. For some context, here is what Radionomy offers: It’s really great to be a part of this community! Please let me know how I can help any of you. Here is what Radionomy offers: 1) Free station creation 2) Completely online, professional radio programming tool 3) All music rights paid for via SoundExchange 4) Upload 3000-5000 of your own tracks 5) Library of 80,000 preloaded tracks 6) Library of current weather reports, news reports, sound design elements and podcasts for insertion into your station. 7) High quality servers and streaming integrity at 128 kbs. 8) Embeddable and sharable widgets for social media and websites. 9) Indexing on iTunes (for the more popular stations) Our idea is to give passionate producers all the tools they need at zero cost (servers, streaming, music rights, news reports...etc.) -- get them out of the business of worrying about these details -- and then they will program amazing stations that attract listenership. So far, we’ve got over 8000 independent producers actively operating stations on Radionomy with nearly 376,000 listeners logging an average of 1.3 million streamed hours per day. We insert 4 minutes of ads per hour on their stream and share this ad revenue when they reach a certain amount of listening hours per month. If any of you have ideas for how I can access more producers and get them to try our platform, I would really appreciate it! If you’d like to understand more about Radionomy, you could try opening a station yourself at http://www.radionomy.com. It takes less than an hour to set up. Or at least check out some of the cool stations already running. I look forward to contributing to this community. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tp7u1FgjGKA

nvradio
Thanks for the welcome! What in specific about the TOS are people concerned about? We are constantly going through updates for our server and broadcast streams and are always working to improve these issues. We are currently working on new outpayment plans that better suit station producers. Also, this Friday the site will be undergoing some maintenance to improve broadcast streams through upgrades in the broadcast platform that will improve mobile application streams and give station producers more options in what kbps they would like to stream in. nvradio
So whats wrong with the TOS agreement? The promotional post is there to help people who are looking for a platform that can deliver on all levels. Many people do not know about Radionomy, so this is their chance to try it out and see for themselves the power of the platform. If not posting in these forums, how else do you think we can access the mass US producer community?
saint
Jim please refrain from making attacks, thanks Radionomy is actually a good business concept. Live365 started off doing something similiar - but then switched to paid service. You just need to really work on providing maximum server time service for the broadcaster. I did remember one thing that really bugged people - limiting the number of radionomy stations that could be listed in I Tunes. And the TOS said that radionomy was not responsible for server uptime. BTW NVRadio, I did mention Radionomy in my recently published book - I applaud you for your companies efforts. Zimdjsounds
nvradio, I have been doing internet radio for a few years now and have always put off getting involved with Radionomy and I am glad that you are here and am looking forward to engaging with you and getting any help to enhance my knowledge that I can get ... so is there anything you can do for an already established radio station? Can i bring my existing stream to play through your servers, Tunein style or will I have have to d=go for a new station setup completely? nvradio
Thanks Saint, Radionomy allows all of the stations that are getting 130 listening hours a day to be featured on itunes. This gives us a chance to provide an incentive and motivation for station producers to not just create and then abandon their station. With all of the free online station aggregation tools and social media it is actually very plausible for anyone to reach this number. Thanks for the mention in your book! I will let the team know about your publication

ZimDjsounds, There is a way to bring your stream over into our servers without having to start from scratch and we are currently working on making this a prominent feature on Radionomy. As of right now, you would have to program your station from the beginning. If you have experience with online streaming and programming this shouldn't take long and we give you an embeddable player that you can stick on your existing website or social outlets so it will still access your current audience. Let me know if you have any other questions or you can visit the Radionomy forum over at http://board.radionomy.com/index.php?/forum/74-english/ for more info! voodoohippie
I was looking towards bringing my station The Legacy over to your service. Problem is that I'm already using RadioLoyalty and Shoutcast. RadioLoyalty works good except that when I get listeners it does not always register and when I'm playing ads while listeners are using their player it sometimes gives me no credit. This is why I started looking at Radionomy but when I started to create The Legacy I noticed that your web DJ is very hard to run as compared to LiveWebDJ, Loudcaster (when they were in business) or even Centovacast. The fact that I can't just fire up SAM Broadcaster and enter the IP and port to your server makes it less attractive to me to even try. It should be as easy as upload your music, create a playlist and bingo you're on. Do note that I want to broadcast at at least 128K because The Legacy is a Progressive Rock, Classic Rock station and anything less than 128K is a waste of time due to the fact that Album Rockers are mostly Audiophiles. This means that the servers you use should be dedicated ones that don't cause buffering. Most AutoDJ services I've used have no REAL audio processing as compared to Breakaway Broadcast (set to Amsterdam) or Stereo Tool set to Web Radio Pheonix - Pristine. IMHO AutoDJ should only be used in cases of Internet failure or power failures or when your station has a failure of some sort due to the lack of audio processing. If your service would just allow me to start another encoder and bang I'm on I'd love to try and make some revenue with your service and see if it would make me more money than RadioLoyalty as well as your flash web player compared with theirs. This is something you should consider when making your service available to broadcasters. nvradio
Radionomy officially released the ad revenue sharing outpayment plan. This is very exciting news in that station producers are actually monetizing their stations without having to pay for ANYTHING to use Radionomy. Talk about revolutionary. Urban Hitz Radio
hi, You might want to reorganize your directory structure and have stations listed based on the number of listeners, so people will now who's listening and who's not. -- JE .::.(())::.
