DJ ABnormal
With Apple rolling out iRadio and companies like Tunein.com as an outlet, is it worth it to get your station listed on iTunes? Brutish Sailor
At one point in time, Itunes would be 80 percent of your listener counts. You would get listed and pick up 100-300 unique listeners overnight. KNSJ.org / 89.1 FM San Diego

BWorld
Until they completely do away with their directory sure why not? Agreed! You, at the very least, will expose your station to people who may nto have ordinarily found it. ██ Stream101 | Affordable Media Solutions ██ Shared cPanel? DJ ABnormal
I appreciate all of the feedback. We have been listed for a month and iTune makes up 7% of our listeners. I was just trying to see if others were doing well with them? We currently stream at 128k just to be on iTunes other wise we would run 64k mono or 96k Stereo. I am considering the lower rate more for mobile usage, but I will wait another month to see if we top out at 7% on itunes, then i will go from there. stanleysradio
Yes it would be worth your time indeed to post your station on iTunes. 90% of my listeners come from iTunes and I think you would like it too.
jnorth
Certainly seems like it's worth it. We have a huge number of listeners coming through iTunes, which is a surprise to me since they've added so many stations, I figured it would be impossible to come across us. Marvin
If you must reduce your rate, I suggest changing it to 64K AAC+ and you might not lose your itunes listing.
DJ ABnormal
Everyone thank you for the input. I went from 128k mp3 to 64k aac. It was not so much about the cost but more about wanting a stream that was mobile friendly. I think 64k aac is a happy medium between quality and data usage. Brutish Sailor
Keep in mind a few things AB, First and formost: Got to have the right query for the right players with AAC+.That or a player that supports AAC+ written in HTML 5. Secondly: Tune in supports AAC+, maybe a thought if your using it. Third: Did some experimenting with Phillipe a few nights ago. I switched to 48kbps AAC+v2, it seems to mask any of those wild artifacts from the original file.
