wizkid
First of all, i want to thank anyone taking the time to answer my questions. I am a newbie and want to make sure i do things the right way. I started reading about Licensing for a stream station. I will be transmitting a live radio station with christian songs of different artists. In Spanish and English ( Mostly Spanish). 1: Do i need a license for this? This will be a Church Project. 2: How do i know if the loudcity license covers any of those artists? Some of the questions artist have there own brand or company. 3: If i purchase any license, do i need to host with them? Or i will be able to transmit live from our own servers and location? 4: If i purchased a Pandora Subscription and (Transmitted the music through our computer, would that make it legal? Any input is appreciated. Thank you.
saint
Your best bet regarding all these questions would be to contact loudcity themselves. Relaxing Entertainment For The World - - www.ScenicRadio.com

Marvin
You do need to take care of royalties and the easiest and least expensive way is with either LoudCity or StreamLicensing. As far as artists covered, if you are using primarily U.S. artists, chances are good they are associated with the standard PRO's (ASCAP, SESAC, BMI, and SoundExchange.) Some exceptions exist but generally the exceptions are not going to be your problem. Both LoudCity and StreamLicensing are bring your own streams so you will provide your own hosting or use the provider you choose. SolidRockRadio.org/contact is a solid resource contact as Brutish pointed out. No, legally retransmitting a standard Pandora subscription is not a possibility. Lmarrie
1. Yes 2. If they are independent artists you can ask them for permission to play their songs (get it in writing) and you will not have to pay royalties. For other artists ask Loudcity 3. Ask Loudcity 4. No http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/1069/vrnlogopng.png www.verbradio.com
