eddas
I'm wondering if it is possible to record while streaming to my internet radio station? I'm running a icecast v2 server, and am streaming to it (currently) using winamp with the edcast plugin. I know I can use another computer to record the stream after I send it to my server, using something like streamripper. The only problem with that is, we're starting up a live show, and I want to be able to record it as it happens, in the event that we have a connection problem. shoutcaststreaming
Some broadcasting software, such as SAM, have a built-in recording feature. eddas
I've checked out SAM, but it's not a possibility as we have a budget that shoestring budgets laugh at. I don't suppose there are any free alternatives out there? MSUBRadio.com your source for all things local and independent!
Brutish Sailor
You can do it, but you will need either: A) a second recording device (another soundcard) or B) record the stream directly. Tons of ways to do that, and cheaper too. KNSJ.org / 89.1 FM San Diego
PapaBearPW
The edcast plugin will save the stream too. Just double-click on the encoder you want to save the stream from and click the Advanced Settings Tab at the top. This will take you to the option for Save Archive Of Stream. That is where you would set it up. http://www.lunarcaster.com
cr08
What PapaBearPW said. This will do exactly what you want. Many (modern) encoder packages have this option. It's hard to find something that doesn't have it. Second option is Icecast also has an archiving feature if memory serves.

Lmarrie
If you want to record your live show you can use BUTT, It's free and creates a great sounding audio file. You can record even if you aren't using it to stream to your server. http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/1069/vrnlogopng.png www.verbradio.com
eddas
Thank you! I didn't notice that setting in edcast. That should do perfectly. MSUBRadio.com your source for all things local and independent!
