nialloreilly123
Hi there, I have to make an instructional video for a college assignment. I am trying to make a video to teach the elderly how to use skype. I would be grateful if you could help me by doing the narration of the video. The script is: "Skype, is a free video chat service, which allows you to communicate with family and friends, all over the world. It uses the internet, instead of traditional telephone wires. In order to use skype, you will need: A computer with an internet connection, an email address, a webcam, and a microphone. Most modern computers already have these installed, however, If your computer does not have a webcam, you may have to purchase this separately. In this guide, we will teach you how to set up skype and make your first skype call. To begin, double click on your web browser. Click on the address bar at the top of the window. Type in “www.skype.com/downloads” and press the enter button on your keyboard. Now click on “Join Us” in the top right hand corner of the page. Fill in all your details in the boxes provided. It is important to remember the skype name and password that you have created on this page for later. When you are finished, click on “I agree - Continue”. Now you will be taken to your account page. Scroll down and click on the green button “Download Skype for Windows”. Next you will see this “Setup Skype for Windows” page. Click on “Run” at the bottom of the window. Now Skype is downloading. This may take a few minutes to complete. After the download is complete, a new window will appear. Here you can select your language in the drop down menu. After this click on “I agree - Next”. Then click continue. On this page, untick the two boxes on the left as shown and click continue. Skype will now install on your computer. This may take a few minutes. This is skype’s sign in page, where you need to enter the skype name and password that you created earlier. If you click on this box, skype will remember your details and sign you in automatically in future. Enter your details and click on sign in. Now click continue. You should be able to see yourself here. If you cannot, you need to check that your webcam is plugged in and working. If you can see yourself, click on continue. This page allows you to add a photo of yourself so that family and friends may easily identify you. This is not essential and you can add this later. Click on “Add Later”. Now you are ready to use skype. Click on “Start using Skype” This is your skype home page. First you will need to add your friends to the contact book. To do this, click on the add contact button here. You will need to search for your friend by their username. Type their username into the search bar and press the enter button. Select your friend from the list and their profile will appear on the right. If this is your friend click the “Add to contacts “ button, and click send. You will need to wait for your friend to accept your request before you can call them. When they have accepted your request and are online, the “Video Call “ button will become green. Click on this to begin a video call. It may take a few moments to load the call. You should now be able to see and speak with your friend on screen. When you are finished the call, Click on the red hang up button. To close skype, click on the red X in the top right hand corner. If you need to reopen skype to make another call, all you have to do is, double click on the skype icon on your desktop. Now you are able to speak with loved ones no matter how far away they are!! If you have any problems with set up, help is available at www.skype.com/help Thank you for watching. Goodbye! Thank you in advance, Niall.
