djgary72
What's the worst thing that could happen to a DJ? Equipment going wrong? Internet going down during a live show? Computer crashing? Nope..... It gets much worse than that. For the last 12/18 months I've been going through what I can only describe as a living hell. My depression has come back with a vengance. It just seems to be sapping what little bit of creativity that I used have. Panic attacks and constant anxeity isn't helping matters either. I really wish it wasn't happening to me but it is, 15 years since a nervous breakdown and I'm still a nervous wreck. I will get there one day, If circumstances allow it. So now you know..... P.S I'm looking for help & support with it not sympathy! My Blog https://djgarybaldy.blogspot.com User of RadioDJ FREE radio playout software since 2010. Urban Hitz Radio
I wish you the best with this. I personally know depression to the highest extent. I've had some issues in my life and so forth. Recently in 2011, with my relocation to North Carolina, I went through a lot. Let's just say, I'm back on my game. You can't let it keep you down. You've got to get up and fight through it. -- JE .::.(())::. Urban Hitz Radio™ USA .::.(())::. The People' Choice for Hip-Hop & R&B! GKIye
Hi Gary and thanks for sharing Your story I know it ain't a story, its a part of the story of life of a human being Some people don(t gonna understand the meaning of it ... but I know and understand the way You feel A lot of elements do influence a human state of mind ... - too much work do creates too much stress - however people who can't find a job gets also a too high stress level - being social is great, but it creates also a level of stress - ... ... ... Receiving sympathy from other people "looks" great, but in fact it is not what is asked People don't understand that a "hi" or "how are you today" don't offers help In fact its a cry for help ! Everyone who got in touch with a similar health problem gonna understand my point of view I learned in my life that the most important "way to solve" a part of the problem is "to accept" It makes a "click" into a human mind who means the start of "doing it in an other way" It don't gonna solve the health issue at once, but it gonna help to figure out some of the sources of problems as seen from a distance If this happens its about time for the next step, getting in search for professional help Sounds easy ? Well no ... Professional help gonna give tons of medication, but there are hundreds of products and some are giving effects to the state of mind, others can make people even worser than before ... I suppose that a mix of both "helps" ... Make weekly a kind of google search to articles, news etc about Your feeling "and" feelings Call this a kind of "self study" ... it helps After a while You gonna find specific elements who gonna look familiar to Yourself ... You gonna read articles at forums, magazines etc about people who achieved specific positive results to their state of mind Gary, I hope that my small contribution gave You some support and showed You an opening to the gate who looks closed at this very moment Visit and listen @ BW ! djgary72
Hope you're allright Gary! We're here for support and radio sanity if need be it's something i've had to live with best part of 30 years, There is no magic cure just got to ride this out and hope for the best, I'm getting help from a Mental health nurse now so I'm on the road to recovery (I hope) I just hate the way it messes with my creative side. Not being able to mentally focus some days can be a right royal pain. If I didn't have the RDJ forums to keep my mind active I'd have gone even more insane by now. Urban Hitz Radio
Remember Gary this is all mental. It doesn't mean you're not normal. This means there is something blocking the normal day to day operation of life. You'll need to find a ways to tap into whatever it is, confront it, and then let it go. Sometimes the causes of depression stem from our upbringing and how we were dealt with as children. Dealing with the issues of our Parents, and the way they lived - how they took care of us. Whether you were poor, rich, middle-class, there is always something that can play a part in altering our normal thinking and functioning process. Definitely talking to a Mental Health professional can help find the root causes. But it is up to US to say enough is enough. Not a lot of people will admit to having issues like this, because it's not something they want to be judged upon. No one has a perfect life. How you deal with the issue is the most important. Life is a classroom with all kinds of teachers. -- JE .::.(())::. Urban Hitz Radio™ USA .::.(())::. The People' Choice for Hip-Hop & R&B!
