Joshy
I'm looking for a "scratchy record" sound effect. I want the beginning of one of my songs to sound like it was recorded in the 1920's. Does anyone have a link to a web-site or know of a sound effects CD with this on it? thanks

MADcHATTER
I take it what your looking for is like the sound of a record on an old style turntable just scratching, hissing and popping away? Maybe this will help. It's a recording of a record on a turntable. The second is the exact same sound run thru a parametric EQ to make it sound like it's on an old style radio. The third is the exact same sound run thru an FFT filter to make it sound like your hearing it through a telephone which would probably be closer to a 20's style radio sound. Hope they help! Does anyone have a link to a web-site or know of a sound effects CD with this on it?Just sharing: I found this VST plugin called Vinyl from iZotope. It is a free VST plugin.....to create authentic "vinyl" simulation, as if the audio was a record being played on a record player. You have complete control of the mechanical and electrical noise as well as adding wear or dust to your recordings. As iZotope puts it The ultimate lo-fi weapon. Check it out!
