Georgevoice
Hi folks. I currently have a Rode NT1-A for doing voice-overs. But I'm curious. Is there a mic out there that would work equally well for voice-overs *and* singing? I do both ... though right now, getting it right for the voice overs is a little more important. The Rode is pretty darned good and in general, I'm very pleased with it. (It was just about $300.) But could I be doing better? (For less than $600 or so, say...) I'm curious about your opinions. All the best, Georgevoice ;)

MADcHATTER
Thats a very good mic for vocals and broadcasting. I wish I had one myself! Because of it's Cardioid Polar Pattern configuration, externally biased (True Condenser) and 5db (A) of self noise its pretty good for doing voiceovers, combine it with a decent windscreen and you should have no problems. Provided you have a good mixer and EQ setup I dont see why that mic couldnt do what you need! Cheers MADcHATTER

nitnitr
I'm going to agree with Madchatter. The Rode you have is pretty good for doing what you need. In order to get something better overall, you'll have to spend quite a bit more than 600 bucks. Stick with your Rode and put your extra money to use on something else you can use for your studio.
