bri6412
I am a recent graduate of SUNY Oswego with a major in Broadcasting and Mass Communications and a minor in Health Science. To sum up who I am, I'm a sports junkie, energetic, outgoing, hard working person and I have a huge passion for this business. I have been sending out my sports demo reel and resume to news stations all over the country. So far I have had a few hits, and one interview but no offers yet. Just coming out of college I am looking for any advice for somebody like me trying to get their foot in the business. I am hungry, enthusiastic, and ready to get to work no matter where that may be. I look forward to your replies and can't wait to hear about your experiences and advice!
ROC7
Good day bri6412! Although I am relatively new to this great site I can say that I have experience with regards to recording station ID voice overs and can say that success lies in the obvious quality of work as well as the volume of your reels. Don't give up, the more professionals that hear you, the better your success rate. Perhaps uploading a demo here for us to listen to? http://richsvoiceovers.com/11_sm2.png Rich Esbensen, American Voice Talent
jdmatthews
I know I'm a little late to this thread. I was an audio engineer for a network affiliate newscast. New graduates often expect to go to NYC or someplace like that and get big quick, but truthfully, it's good to start in small markets and spend a couple of years there building up your reel/resume. We went through sportscasters pretty quickly, as I recall.
