Steamcast Preview Release 1.0.0 decennium

We are pleased to announce the preview release of Steamcast 1.0.0 decennium.

 

 

Steamcast 1.0.0 decennium marks the very first stable release of Steamcast in it's history. This release covers all features in all previous releases of Steamcast except for OnDemand which we anticipate will be available in a future release of Steamcast.

 

 

This server has been tested in a local networked environment to handle 16,000 listeners at once on Windows 8.1 in a stream running at 64kbps. From the bottom up Steamcast has be redesigned to handle web requests and streams in the most efficient way possible using new threading and coding standards available. The road has been a long one for Steamcast, which is the name decennium has been chosen to designate 10 years of development.

 

 

Steamcast is also employing new approaches to old ideas. Streaming is now accomplished preferring standardized protocols like HTTP/1.1. Steamcast prefers this protocol above all others but will work with older ICY/SHOUTcast and Icecast2 servers. We are currently using Steamcast as a distribution hub for older SHOUTcast v1 servers and things have gone very smoothly. One of the hallmark features we are setting out to accomplish is restart-less and web based configuration. Steamcast can almost be completely configured via the web panel and an administrator login.

 

 

Steamcast also supports a variety of streams formats like MP3, aacPlus, and Ogg. Steamcast also supports legacy wrapping of MP3 and aacPlus streams into FLV. Stats management is also available in the form of XML, JSON and JSONP making site integration even easier.

Steamcast 1.0.0 decennium look and feel is good.Today I'm going to trying it.Hope its something diff from other Broadcast.

I'm using it atm for now and its pretty good. I'll run it for a while as I've like Jay's tools over the years and he's always beem responsive to questions. I'm also using it with MPD/MPC and so far no issues.

Hey! someone that runs Drupal! I like it. Fast load times, good job for working the page.

 

Im behind a firewall at work, so I cant get a full view, but your page loaded lightning quick despite the modules failing to load.

Yah been using Drupal since 5. The script for the station stats was a bi of a hack when running with Drupal, I was going to get a module done but people wanted way too much money for the job.
