Djd
I have a US based listener that has been logged in for 13.5 hours now! Little strange as I have only got 1.5 hours worth of music on a loop. Is this normal? Oh No it;s HouseHold Radio for the groovier side of house music, DJ bookings via website please. Dare to Disco...... James
Not normal as per such, but some people could be ripping your stream for music. There is software out there which can rip music from streams. Otherwise, I have had some listeners tune in for days on end (>48 hours+) but I found out it was a local cafe streaming it in their shop. They sent an email through to me saying they enjoyed the music I was playing and it kept their customers happy. Weird situation but still, something to be warey about. I would do an IP lookup and if anything looks sus, then i'd boot them. No real loss in that case. Djd
I've not listed the station with tune in (its way to early for that) done a quick search on there and the station isn't listed. SlamminTunes
Take a look at the listener IP and do a trace. I find I get 1 from Manassas Virginia that's part of a listening service that enables stream rippers to pop in and rip a song when I'm playing something on their list. Their IP typically starts with 207.

GKIye
You would be amazed on what kind of sites you can be added ... Lots The past week, after 8 Years of streaming I discovered "3" new ones I've not listed the station with tune in (its way to early for that) done a quick search on there and the station isn't listed. I agree with James ... I have the same ... lets say issue ... so not a problem for real ... An Irish pub at Boston is logged in sometimes for days in a row "If" Your project is submitted to a 3rd party site (even without your knowledge) some of them can use a stream as tracker to get updates of Your current playing song If You are not sure about it - see quote Brutish Sailor - than ban that stream for a week or so In general it don't gonna come back ... unless a "real person" is behind the IP and gonna try to login once You deleted the ban Welcome to the World of streaming Visit and listen @ BW ! GKIye
Provide Us with some details about the IP Copy the IP into this topic I"m sure some of Us can / gonna be able to identify the IP So can someone pls tel me what to look for and ban ? The ip address I'm referring to in this case is using Web flash player to listen on according to my cp. Very confused. .??? If the IP is using a web flash player, it looks that the person is listening / is logged in at a site who provides a station directory The same way as it can be done / used at SRW - part of BW - aka streamingradioworld.com Check mine = http://www.streamingradioworld.com/GK-International/ (see green button) Visit and listen @ BW ! Djd
The ip no is earlier in this thread, every time I turn the stream on it seems to connect within a few hours and stays logged in? Djd
Thanks I will today, can anyone tell me who/what the ip no posted earlier in the thread actually is? It would help me recognise things. How long is a normal log in time and when should I start getting suspicious? As I'm a new station with hardly any listeners yet I only purchase limited bandwidth, someone or thing logged in for 16/17 hours certainly eats into that! ! Thanks for all your help guys this is a steep learning curve lol Edited August 14, 2015 by Djd Oh No it;s HouseHold Radio for the groovier side of house music, DJ bookings via website please. shoutcaststreaming
You're going to get stream rippers, no matter what, so get used to it. So, you should buy a package that doesn't limit your bandwidth !! Most reputable Stream Hosts provide this.
