funkytwig
Anyone know of any microphones that record that can be used by reporters. So far I have found. Sennheiser DRM85 HHB FlashMic Ben
Brutish Sailor
For your price range? Get the DR-05 http://tascam.com/product/dr-05/ If you have a bigger budget, and want to get something that works with microphones? DR-40 http://tascam.com/product/dr-40/ 2 most under-rated products in the recording industry. I have heard recodrings using main outs from a cheap mixer to the DR40 XLR inputs thaat made me jealous. Seriously, thing is a beast, and lots of anti-stupid built into it. KNSJ.org / 89.1 FM San Diego
funkytwig
Not a bad idea. What are the mics like?
Brutish Sailor
Mics are great, but I dont use them for the Mics (I donated my DR40 to a Indie movie maker) I use them for their great preamps, and recording from mics into them. Like I said, anti-stupid built in for show host, looking to record a show live without a comp. It also records 4 channels on the DR-40 independently. He didn't even optimize the settings, but he used it to do an interview in the park. Cheap mic, XLR cable to DR-40. You can hear where it was doing auto-leveling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euXFFyafqEY Edited August 23, 2015 by Brutish Sailor KNSJ.org / 89.1 FM San Diego
funkytwig
OK, as I said they are to be used for reporters. What I did not say was this was on location. They are for vox-pops and such like. Having a SD recorder and separate mic is not what I am looking for. The big issue is money. The mics I mentioned are a bit to expensive for us. Was wondering if there were any cheaper ones.
