How often should you put a jingle in ?

Hi my station household radio is playing off auto dj 24/7 at the moment, I plan to start broadcasting features and shows in the future anyway what I'm wondering is how often should I play a station id jingle? I'm broadcasting dance music that typically lasts 6 to 7 mins per track.

I do mine every 15 min's

Sounds reasonable, I was listening to absolute 80s yesterday at work and they seem to chuck one on nearly every tune but I think that gets a bit much after a while.

I agree with Jonny c every 15 mins is a good interval, some servers will allow you to schedule them after x amount of songs. This would be your best bet as a problem you may have if you choose every 15 mins is, your station ad will cut in mid track and that will just sound amateur.

yes my server lets me specify the numbers of tunes between jingles, changing it now..

Back in my radio days, it used to be every three songs.

I agree you can over push your product. We have always recommended after every 3-4 songs.

I've set the jingles after every 3 tunes a the station plays longer dance tracks only so the tunes are a little longer I think it works out to a jingle every 17 mins or so.
