BWorld
Just a quick calculation: (using the more common method of "even" numbers) 320kbps = 40 kilobytes per second or .04 Megabytes per second. .04 X 300 = 12 Megabytes per second. 60 seconds in a minute equals 720MB and 60 minutes in an hour equals 43200MB or 43.2GB 20GB = 20000 Megabytes, meaning you would run out of bandwidth in 1667 seconds, or 27 minutes. Personally, I was never sold on the high number of listeners and low bandwidth concept. That is why I don't personally do it that way on our site. Unfortunately every new hobbiest thinks they will have 500 listeners so they jump on packages like this. The big problem actually comes when you have to deal with the people who do utilize a high number of slots and don't understand the math. Then they realize how expensive a package really can be. Your pricing is about $8.36 USD per month. If we were to break down the bandwidth's true cost to make it a month (assuming your rate stays the same for more bandwidth) (30 days), you would be streaming for a total of 43200 minutes. If you divide that by 27 minutes, you need to purchase 1600 "packages". That would cost someone $13,376 per month. Now this is all just a crazy scenario as most people are not going to go crazy and calculate this crap. I only do it because I'm a numbers guy and I run numbers on EVERYTHING. I find it fun to figure this stuff out. ██ Stream101 | Affordable Media Solutions ██ Shared cPanel? frankallen
I understand thank you. We have decided to go with unlimited bandwidth to our users. I guess this would make it a better deal. I will change it all when I can get online with my desktop. http://i.imgur.com/qrEUBH7.png Check us out http://www.itsjustradio.org
