SHOUTcast now inserting commercials without Broadcasters permission

I haven't received any complaints yet from our customers, but other companies have.

 

Seems that SHOUTcast (Radinomy) have inserted pre-roll ads when a stream starts up.

It might help if they receive a few thousand complaint emails for everybody here. However, I doubt it. I really miss Nullsoft.

[TD=class: alt1] We were testing the insertion of pre-rolls for one particular CDN (hosting provider) who'd requested it.

Unfortunately, in the process, pre-rolls for all registered DNAS stations was activated by mistake.

 

We've now disabled it.

What's to say that it's not something they'd already wanted to do but were told a number of times it wouldn't go down well...

 

Either way, a) that's a complete cock-up to have done that & not know about it for quite a time until broadcasters complained and b) has shown their preferred stance on things imho.
