Zach
Hey all! I am a DJ for an internet radio and I am currently using a Blue Yeti microphone. The sound quality is amazing, but as I am using the microphone stand it comes with and placing it on my desk, it is picking up the vibrations through the computer desk which is being picked up on the microphone. As such, there is a constant hum in the background of my vocals. As soon as I pick the microphone up off the desk, the background noise completely disappears. I’m looking for some recommendations as to what stand I could purchase, or other methods, to lift my microphone off my desk. I’m looking for something that I can easily remove and put back as it’s a shared computer and I can’t have a microphone in the way. I also have a pop filter which will need to attach to the stand. The more compact the better! Suggestions are much appreciated!
djgary72
I have one of these mic stands https://www.amazon.co.uk/Citronic-180-002-Swivel-Microphone-Boom/dp/B00DTKMVBO It may also be worth while putting the PC tower on something that will dampen the vibrations. A bit of Foam under the tower would do it. My Blog https://djgarybaldy.blogspot.com User of RadioDJ FREE radio playout software since 2010. Zach
Thanks for the reply. Do you have a Blue Yeti and if so, do you attach a pop shield to the stand too?
djgary72
You can attach a Pop Shield to that microphone stand and no I don't have a Blue Yeti its some microphone I got from an electronics store for £12 when it should have cost £50 don't really use it a lot these days not really doing much DJ work.
