RadioDJ and MySQL 8

Recommended Posts

Just a heads up for anyone planning on using RadioDJv2 with the new MySQL8 servers.

I tried and failed several times before i realised i was installing it wrong.

You need to enable Legacy server support in the setup options. Its less secure but at least the MySQL setup now allows you to easily add a new user.

Full Tutorial is Here

Personally we're sticking with MariaDB as its easier to setup and a lot more stable than Oracle MySQL.

Its quite a bind trying to install MySQL 8.0 IMHO.
