My name is Lou and I run an internet station called "Bigloo Christian Radio".

Now... I know what a "loo" is, and after all this time the name sticks. I used to work in website development and was the webmaster for many music artists, some of which were Christian groups. One such group had a member whom I was once talking with about creating the station. He suggested the name Big Lou Radio (to name it after myself) - and then suggested a way to make it "different" so "Bigloo" was born. It wasn't until we were well established that it dawned on me that a "loo" is a toilet. I shrugged my shoulders and said the heck with it - the name stays.

I worked in terrestrial radio back in the early 80s - three different stations in one major market before getting a "real" job, and have been broadcasting on Internet radio since 1999.

As far as my setup... I am pretty simple. I use a dedicated computer to broadcast music to the net. My broadcaster of choice is OTSAV (formerly OTSDJ). I have tried others but have found this to be the simplest to use for my needs. I do wish it had the feature where one can go to the website and request a song, but after 9 years we're getting by just fine. I use a Eurorack UB1222 Pro or a Mackie DFX6 mixer - depending on my mood and what I am doing that day. My mic of choice is an Electrovoice RE20.

If anyone is interested in listening, the station can be found at http://www.biglooradio.com. I run two bitrates 64k MONO (yes MONO) and 24k Mono. The 64k MONO doesn't sound all that bad and no one complained when I went from 128k down to 64k 2 years ago.

Thanks it about me, sorry I was so long-winded.
