Guidance for voice overs

Ok so I think I am using the right term but I am so new to this I am not sure.

I am using audacity for making some vocalizations. Meaning I think I am making dry voice overs though i am not sure.

I am not completely happy with the results do to the fact I might be missing some setting to make it sound right. Can I get some advice on how to make audacity make things the best they can be.
