James
As a jock I wonder how much time do others allot to show prep per shift. And are you heavy on local info? I tend to do a hour to two for a shift= 4 hrs...How about you? 101.9 Foxfm
We dont get much preparation time. But our DJ's work on time at home to build up content ofcourse. Then relax in our lounge before going on air.
MADcHATTER
Since our DJ's are responsible for their shows, prep time is entirely up to them. I provide them with Show Prep Tools, websites, links, files...whatever they need including new music I get before anyone else should they want it. We will never interfere or dictate the content of a DJ's show. As long as it does NOT violate our policies pretty much anything goes! We warn everyone that we're an adult station and there is adult language, situations and unedited music. Most of our DJ's use "Clean Language" some dont...we're not going to stifle creativity or free speech. As long as they dont get racist, abusive, sexist or overly perverted. DaveyC
Well, here in the UK, we can register to receive a free monthly book (if we're part of a licenced FM station) called X-trax. Basically it has all the events, news, births, deaths, number 1's and sport for each day of the month. What we usually do is search the web for extra information relating to each snippet of info listed in the book. Then once we've got our local stuff and features, your show is completely full. Which is a good thing in my opinion.. You can never have too much content.
James
Content is the key, you cant have a show without content. But i find it hard to find that content other than news sites.. what are some useful sites for this?
