Can we bring more to internet radio than just music?

I've given thought to reviving serials. Not on my station, mind you, but on a new station. Take some (serious) time to prep a few serialized shows like they had back with Radio was Television. Voice actors (or, in my case, characters because I'd do them all myself) telling a narrative that would be ongoing.

Of course that's in a perfect world where I'd have a significant amount of free time...

dont we all want free time

Sounds like a good show though.

I wouldnt mind a bit of drama and comedy on radio. Back in the days, the local station played some from montreal and it was brilliant stuff. :)

I like your suggestion James of comedy on the radio. In the UK the BBC has a monopoly on radio comedy and most shows go on to the TV and great success. Many colleges have drama departments and maybe tapping in to those resouirses could be beneficial. New comedy talent on BW...... That would be good. Just a thought.

Many years ago I did a talkshow on a local AM station down in Miami called "The Lazy American" which was one of the more Conservative shows of the time. Needless to say many viewpoints were radically divergent from my own when it came to political discussions. Which was the whole idea of the show. Lately some people have been bugging me to bring it back to my Internet station.

I have been thinking about it but, to be honest, I just dont have the time to research materials like i used to. So i'm kinda up in the air about that.

On the subject of Serials, we did a "Radio Comedy/Drama" awhile back using our DJ's as actors (bad actors) it was pretty funny but took alot of work.
