James
Well.. i guess the thing of the future is this.. I heard on a station in the usa that they are giving away petrol as a prize! But the thing is.. you have to drive there to get the petrol.. what a bloody waste of time! How low do stations go these days? MADcHATTER
A woman who won a radio contest that promised the winner "100 grand" sued after the station gave her a candy bar -- a Nestle's 100 Grand bar -- instead of $100,000. The station never said the contest prize was a "Candy bar" Norreasha Gill filed a complaint in Fayette District Court against Atlanta-based Cumulus Media, which owns WLTO-FM in Lexington. Gill, 28, says the station and its parent company breached a contract to pay $100,000 to the contest winner. Night host DJ Slick sponsored the station's contest to "Win 100 Grand," Gill said in the lawsuit. Gill won by listening to the radio show for several hours and being the 10th caller at a specified time. She went to the radio station the next morning to pick up her prize, but was asked to return later. When she got home, she found that the station manager had left a message explaining she had won a 100 Grand candy bar, not money. Later, he offered her $5,000, Gill said. "I said I wanted $95,000 more," she said. "Nobody would listen for two hours for a candy bar."

bigmouthstudio
Now we know what you will do for a 100 Grand.. What would you do for a Klondike Bar? Legally the listener got what was promised... Like the radio prank where the jock says he will be downtown walking naked and listeners show up the jock is fully clothed walk a dog with a name tag of naked... the lady does not have a legal leg to stand on.... Welcome to fun radio! Just my $ .02 cents! Kindest Regards, Jerry
boxovoices
On an aussie station, which shall remain nameless, they were offering the chance at winning $50000. Great! Just had to call in and txt a bunch of times to get in the draw. So the ph calls costing you 30 cents every time you call and every txt is 55 cents and these guys were telling you the more times you enter, the better chance you have at winning. So someone after calling and texting daily for 4 weeks, won the chance to win $50000. The station gave them a $1 instant scratchie....
