NickolasM.
Logitec Premuim NoteBook Headset. Or if I mess a setting up on my computer I switch over to my Logitec Quick cam with a built in microphone. Works Good as a Back up.

dj.plazma
I use 2 different ones depending on what I'm doing (voice recording vs live broadcasting). MXL990 for Live Webcasting. http://clickradio.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/mxl-990.jpg And then for voice recording the Behringer B1 http://www.woodbrass.com/images/woodbrass/B-1_big.jpg (P.S. James
Ive used both of those mics! I own 2 B-1's and ive used that mxl in class Great choice dj.plazma. How do you find the B-1? Its not that good im my opinion but better than any other mic in that price range by far! RadioCIA
Shure PG48s. Tough enough for remote use, relatively inexpensive, and sound great.

snarfdude
some cheap condensers as mentioned here already are quite good for overall usage. my main mics are a rode NT1 and a audio technica AT2020. I also have some vintage mics, a RCA BK5-B and a altec 639A....both pretty much antiques....also some EV 635's for a "remote" sound when in the studio...which can be very effective.... radio broadcast standard is usually a sennheiser HD 421, a electrovoice RE 20 or a shure SM7. To my mind, these are too expensive for my budget and in most cases, some decent EQ can achieve a similar result. Would I love to have one of each, sure, but not practical. You'll get many opinions for mics, but it's very subjective. How many listeners really care? very few. As long as you sound reasonably good, full and rich with no tinny sound, whatever you use should work.

cjpopp
33-3024 from Radio Shack. $30 in 2002 and still use it today. Have a $60 mixer with it to power the mic.
StreamAlerts
a sennheiser HD 421, a electrovoice RE 20 or a shure SM7. Yep, every radio station I've worked at used RE 20s (one had an RE 21) or MD421s. But for a durable, inexpensive and good sounding mic, you can always go with a Sure SM58. manojjonam10
I love the DPA sound; if I recorded more classical work, I’d use nothing but DPA and Earthworks.Neumann is also a good option
carlwelden
My go-to mic is the Shure SM7B, mostly for its excellent off-axis rejection, especially in environments where background noise is an issue. http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v322/134/110/718772963/n718772963_764952_9591.jpg It's a great workhorse!
