Ai Roots
What are some top tips before heading on the air? How do you start before broadcasting? i tend to always drink citrus drinks before and during shows. if you have honey that works wonders too and always watch out of too words with too many 'p's and 's' and if possible look for alternative words as these normally results in mistakes or rushed words. MrBruce
On a serious note...since my programming is broadcasted by terrestrial means and I have to face my public at one time or another....I make sure I research anything I plan on talking about before-hand. There was a few times in the past where I started my show speaking about a topic and I was way off from being anywhere near accurate. I heard about it from the public. Believe me when I say when your on the Internet, you never have to deal with your audience face to face. Phone calls can be avoided, but your public audience has a way of getting in your way. There were a few times I was reading off the songs I played and I was reading off of the wrong page, so as you can guess, my listeners thought I was having a few nips under the console. Hehe. So before I approach that console, I make sure I have my act together before hand and my notes organized and before me at all times. Bruce. MrBruce
Okay here's the newest Blooper! Date: Friday August 23rd. Location: USA My introduction and repeated several times that night. "Welcome to the LOOONNNGGGGG Labor day weekend folks! By the way Saturday marks the 50 year anniversary of 'Martin Luther King's I have a dream' speech! On Saturday in Washington D.C. Will be a tribute to the 50 year anniversary which was in 1963. By the way, as was three years ago, the traditional Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon (MDA) is no more....isn't that a bummer. I can remember staying up all night watching Jerry Lewis and the stars, now it's down to a lousy 4 hours from 23 hours! So tune in Sunday night if you wish to watch it , there just won't be any Jerry Lewis......" Okay now, for those outside the USA. Blooper #1, Labor day weekend is still a whole week away yet! (I guess I am a messenger from the future) Blooper #2, Although there was a celebration in Washington D.C. on Saturday August 24, August 24 is NOT the actual anniversary date of the speech. Blooper #3 The Jerry Lewis telethon, (even if it was still called that, was NOT scheduled for ANOTHER whole week yet! It was always scheduled for the Sunday before (Labor Day) Which isn't until Monday September 2! Hello D.J. What the HELL have you been smokin' dude???? This is a true story. MrBruce out! P.S. I edited this, because I really didn't make it clear to users outside the US why those were bloopers.
