James
BW (and i) think that radio needs more comedy. If anyone wants to produce a show or even put a comedy bit on your station, we will support you! :biggrinthumb: I remember back when i was little, radio had the comedy seconds where we would hear a comedian say a joke or two between songs. Brilliant way of getting listeners back and making them focused on something other than a dj and music. What are your thoughts? binkdonk
I think you are right James, there is too much unhappiness in the world today, if there is something that can bring a smile to someones face while on the commute to work or while at work, then why not. I love comedy in general, stand-up being one of my favorites. Here in Canada, in my small community, there is one radio station that covers a huge area encompassing many communities, they have recorded jokes that play throughout the day, as well as, a morning comedy song to get everybody smiling at the start of the day. The dj also tells a joke in the morning - this all just goes well with a cup of coffee first thing. A good way to start the day:p

Cucco3
Comedy doesnt need a comeback. Music is in radio and will be forever. Why do you need comedy?
MADcHATTER
Yeah I agree. A good laugh helps break things up. I try to do some with like an opening monologue then scatter little bits around during my show, either funny snipits, short comedy routines or even an occasional bit. It all helps! James
I think most stations end shows with a laugh.. its what brings the show to life! Even if its cheap haha, i saw these 2 dj's on air once. They said "in 2 mins we will laugh really hard like something just happened. People will tune in and hopefully call us up to see what it is because they missed it. If we get 20 calls, our study is complete.." then they laughed.. and they got 80+ calls.. its PROVES that laughing generates interest!
